The Paycheck

Your paycheck can stop.

The bills usually don't.

Washington Paid Leave

A state program administered by the Employment Security Department that can provide paid leave for qualifying family and medical reasons. Current premiums, eligibility and benefit amounts are published at paidleave.wa.gov.

Employer or union benefits

Some employers and union/trust plans provide their own disability or leave benefits. What exists varies widely — the first step is knowing what your workforce already has.

Disability insurance

Private coverage designed to replace part of income when illness or injury stops work. Policies differ in how they interact with state benefits. Learn more about disability / income protection.

Work-related injuries

Injuries on the job are generally handled through workers' compensation, administered by Washington Labor & Industries (lni.wa.gov). Supplemental coverage does not replace it.
